Q: Is Mallet the same as Merit?

A: Yes — Mallet is a commercial brand of Imidacloprid and functions identically to Merit. Both deliver 0.20% Imidacloprid for systemic grub control. The active ingredient is the same.

Q: Why is there no phosphorus (0)?

A: The 14-0-0 formula focuses on nitrogen for lawn color and density. Phosphorus is typically not needed in established turf maintenance programs. If phosphorus is needed (new seeding, overseeding), consider Shaw's 14-25-10 Starter instead.

Q: Does it still need to be watered in?

A: Absolutely — Imidacloprid must be moved into the soil to be effective. Apply at least 0.5 inches of irrigation within 24 hours of application.
